During the leisurely holiday periodstudents can explore areas of personal interest alongside their social engagements. Whether it's reading a book, learning a new skill, or taking time for self-reflection and personal growth, these activities lay a solid foundation for the coming year. 1. Consolidating Knowledge
  • Allocating Moderate Revision Time

Review key academic topics from the term with your child, establishing a flexible study schedule that incorporates appropriate revision periods. Use the holiday as an opportunity to reinforce term-time learning.

  • Completing One Assignment Daily

Have your child tackle a portion of one assignment each day to prevent academic neglect arising from excessive relaxation.

  • Discover One New Fact Daily

Encourage daily exploration of scientific curiosities, natural phenomena, or historical anecdotes to broaden their knowledge horizons.

  1. Relax Body and Mind
  • Mental Reset and Restful Recovery

After academic demands, guide children to unwind and fully savour the break. Ensure adequate sleep, establish regular routines, and discourage late nights or excessive screen time.

  • Moderate exercise for physical wellbeing

Encourage daily moderate physical activity, such as indoor sports like table tennis or skipping, or outdoor pursuits including cycling, jogging, or basketball to maintain fitness.

  • Try a New Activity

Encourage children to explore an entirely new leisure pursuit, such as crafts, calligraphy, baking, or photography, to discover hidden talents and fresh interests.

III. Family Time

  • Arrange at least one outdoor family outing

Parents can hike or barbecue with children outdoors, or admire festive illuminations together to savour the holiday romance and strengthen bonds.

  • Complete at least one collaborative family project

Examples include preparing a Christmas feast, decorating the tree, arranging New Year displays, or tackling household chores together. This fosters family involvement and builds mutual understanding through cooperation.

  • Experience the festive spirit and count down to the New Year together

Immerse yourselves in the Christmas atmosphere by watching seasonal films or sharing holiday memories. As the clock strikes midnight, welcome the new year together, creating cherished family recollections.

Through thoughtful planning of the Christmas and New Year holidays, children gain knowledge, unwind, and feel the warmth of family bonds through shared experiences. This prepares them to embrace the coming year with renewed positivity.
